Bareboat charter
A bareboat charter has become increasingly popular as well as the demand for yacht vacation. It is considered easier and cheaper than owning a yacht.
Bareboat charter implies chartering a boat independently, without any help of a professional skipper. However, you must have experience in handling a yacht of the size you want to charter and be familiar with anchoring and berthing. Another important thing is the experience in coastal navigation which includes also the use of nautical charts and all other instruments and equipment, all provided on each yacht. Besides, you are responsible for navigation and safety on board, for the yacht and its crew. You, as a skipper, must perform all the tasks and take up your obligations for handling the yacht.
Those who feel more adventurous and experienced can charter a small motor yacht. Yachts of larger dimensions, both sailing and motor ones, usually require a professional skipper provided by a charter company. If you still feel uncertain about your decision on boat type, your charter company can help you choose the yacht of your preference.
This way, you can freely make your own itinerary according to your preferences, choose a cruising area you find the most attractive and safe. In spite of your confidence and experience, you can always ask for some advice regarding your journey, anchorages, place to visit, cruising spots and other tips that might help you during your vacation on board. Before leaving the port, you can ask details about the surroundings, weather conditions, safe anchorages and other useful information.
A skipper must have all required qualifications and should keep his certification of competence on board. All the yachts are well maintained by the professional team all year round, which keeps them in excellent condition.
